FREE DESKTOP WALLPAPER
Just because I don't already have enough to do, I thought that I might create a series of desktop wallpapers of members' greys. They're all absolutely free for anyone to download, so help yourself!
If you want your grey to be immortalised in an an african grey desktop wallpaper, then just e-mail me a large, high-quality digital photograph of your darling at captainquark9@mac.com. Please include the subject line "Wallpaper" in the e-mail.
Let me know if you have anything special you'd like me to do. Just as beautiful models are airbrushed to perfection before the appear on the pages of the glossy magazines, so your grey can be 'improved' tidy up a feather here and there, tidy up that flaky beak, put that missing toe back on
just let me know in the e-mail, otherwise he or she will appear 'unsanitised'.
Wallpapers are sorted alphabetically by the name of the grey.
To download the wallpaper click on the one you want and that wallpaper will pop up in a new window. To set the image as your background, right-click on the image (control-click on a Mac). From the menu, select the option 'Set as Background' or 'Set as Wallpaper.'

Just a note .. Perk is also a rescue.... Not in a breeding situation but a rescue ..
He was 22 years old when we rescued him and although he was in a family envrionment he was living in a bullet cage with no toys and never handled. He was terrified of everything and everyone because he hadn't been socialized outside of having his beak trimmed ...
His diet was garbage, his feathers looked horrible and he had been plucking under his wings .. .He was pretty much given to a pet shop to re-home him ....
I think Andie's Bubba is a rescue and wild caught also ...

Ooops! I shall correct this oversight
although I don't yet have any pix of Bubba.

No problem ... just wasn't sure if members knew that our boys are also rescues and do have some success .. One step forward .. three steps back!

This 'oversite' is what gave me the idea for a rescue profiles section ;)

I think your idea is a great one ... and I also think I can implement it within the existing software using the Grey Toolkit ... Each member can have a one page article giving the summary details of their rescue and then link to their blog .. I can also put a subforum on the main page with a redirect link to this area so it doesn't get lost in the toolkit and easy to find for newbies ...
I think that will work for now ..
Great idea Silver ... I am off to work right now but will work on it this evening so you can take a look ...

I'll try to get a good Bub picture. I have a very terrible camera...Yes Dee, Bubba is a wild caught, and former breeder. He is adapting to family life fairly well.

Something strange is happening here, but unfortunately, I can't edit this topic any longer.
If you want to download any of these wallpapers, then click on this link instead, which will take you to the appropriate album on my .Mac webspace
Click on the image of your choice. This will bring it up in a slideshow window (default for the .Mac album, I'm afraid), but click again and it will load the full-sized image.

Not strange ... after the power outages in Ontario when I was away many settings were reset. Give me a second then try again .... I think I'm pretty sure what the problem is ..
Ok! CQ .. Try again .. There is a default time restriction of 10 minutes to edit a post ... I had that turned off for all moderators and myself however when the power outages in Ontario where our server sits occured .. most settings reverted to their default .. So it's been like a puzzle to figure out what settings I needed to change ..

Thanks, Dee! Problem solved, and all is working as it should again.
So, anyone wanting an AnAG Wallpaper can again send me a large, hi-quality pic of their beloved grey, as described in the instructions in the original post.
Oh, and btw, logicxp, that bootleg wallpaper you have done of Bolcus constitutes a breach of copyright!
Nah, jus' kiddin'. Send me over that pic and I'll fix you up with the Real McCoy! (Who was McCoy anyway?)

These seem to have disapeared which is a shame.. Would you like me to host them? It's no trouble.
I may not have the key to success, but I know how to pick the lock on the door.
