Some bright spark posted a silly design for a t-shirt a while back, along with a note saying that, if enough people expressed an interest in it, he would produce some and put 'em on sale. Well, interest was expressed (indeed, one member seemed upset that he couldn't order one on the spot isn't that right, UZ ?) so this is the result:
an african grey
THE ONLINE SHOP

Now you can let the whole world know that you know you've got parrot poop on your back!
And what is more, every time you buy anything from this shop, $2.00 from the price listed on the shop will be donated to avian charities to make life just that little bit better for our feathered friends!
Just click here to go to the an african grey Online Shop!
Please note: When you click on this link, you will be taken to the AnAfricanGrey online shop at www.cafepress.com. You will be purchasing your choice of products from CafePress and NOT directly from AnAfricanGrey. If you have any questions or problems, please do not contact AnAfricanGrey, but click here to go to the CafePress Help Desk
.

Many different kinds of clothing are available now and yes, there is a "parrot poop" version available too but more will be coming on stream too, along with bumper stickers, mugs, caps and lots more!
But this is only the beginning!
We all love our greys. So how would you like to have a customised t-shirt with a portrait of your grey, beautifully created in the usual AnAG style, just like the wallpaper? Same deal: if you want your grey to be immortalised on an an african grey t-shirt, then just e-mail me a large, high-quality digital photograph of your darling at captainquark9@mac.com. Please include the subject line "T-shirt" in the e-mail and let me know exactly which kind of t-shirt you want to have.
Let me know if you have anything special you'd like me to do. Just as beautiful models are airbrushed to perfection before the appear on the pages of the glossy magazines, so your grey can be 'improved' tidy up a feather here and there, clean up that dirty beak, put that missing toe back on
just let me know in the e-mail, otherwise he or she will appear 'unsanitised'.
Suggestions?
Got a great idea for a t-shirt, fridge magnet or bumper sticker? Let me know, I'll produce it for you and stick it on the shop!
Watch this space!

There is now a seperate section for An African Grey Shop which contains a link to the shop, information and any posts relating to the shop. I have also placed a direct link to the online shop in the top menu bar.
Our customized requests can also include our other birds... So if I have a nice pic of Perky and Sméagol I can have An African Grey T-Shirt with both on it ...
Mugs and magnets for An African Grey sound good ..

Questions aren't silly at all .... The CafePress which hosts the online marketplace is located in the US.
Here is a link to the shipping costs ... I will open another thread with links to key information ..

I wouldn't have created that shop had we Brits not also been able to buy stuff from it. I have bought stuff myself from that site before now.
There is a similar site based in Germany where put together my own "parrot sh…" t-shirt. If I get two minutes to rub together, I may create a European shop too.

I shall get one organised for you – it'll have to be tomorrow, though, I'm afraid.

Thanks CQ...unfortunately I wasn't very descriptive on the type of hoody huh...though if it comes big enough that one would be ok for Axel he likes zip ups. I don't do the zippy hoodies, the birds chew the zipper teeth and then, well it doesn't work right...I go for pull overs with the kangaroo pocket on them...Sorry for being such a pain in your hiney... But I really do appreciate you building the hoody!

AWESOME! Payday is tomorrow and I'm buying sh1t-shirts for me and Dan. The 14th & 15th of Oct is the Bird Expo in Salt Lake and the night of the 14th is the monthly bird club meeting. Soooooo what better way to promote AnAG and let my devoted husband prove how much he loves me than to let him honor (note the proper American spelling) me by wearing matching AnAG sh1t-shirts all around Salt Lake????? I'm sure all the 'Utah conservatives' will be dying to have a sh1t-shirt like us LMAO!!!
On another note......a while ago there was a thread on the QP site about really great sayings people would like to see on a t-shirt. There were some INCREDIBLE ideas in there! UZ had some of the best if I remember correctly. I can't exactly find the thread right now, but I know it's there somewhere. I particulary remember one that said 'My hair stylist is my parrot' - I loved that one to wear on a bad hair day
WHEW!! Found the link, and yes it's a lot of quaker stuff, but hey we ALL love quakers too, right?!?!?!?! I'm sure with yours imagination and design ability, CQ, that you could do something with these suggestions http://www.quakerparrots.com/forum/index.p...&hl=t-shirt I know there are several I'd buy
Oh, and what would the possibility be of getting a really good slimy, drippy, green splat of poop graphic on the back?????? I would be willing to hold off on ordering for a couple days and paying for overnight delivery if needed to get that on the back of the shirt.....I think that would really frost the cake, so to speak. If not possible by then, I'll be buying 'puff paint' in green and brown and creating my own poop. (Did I really say that?) Another forum I belong to for trucker's wives (OMG I just admitted I've been cheating on QP.com & AnAG LOL) has one saying on the front and one on the back and they go through the same website. Of course, I haven't ordered one of THEIR t-shirts, just to make you feel better about who I know is REALLY important
Thanks again CQ and Dee for giving us this great place, and now some awesome shirts too!!!! I love you guys!!!

Instead of it reading Parrot **** can we get it to say poo or poop? I am a woman and it's a little tacky for a woman to wear the word ****, that and what if a child wants to read it?
Another ?? could you put the saying on the back of the shirt with a custom picture of our bird on the front?

Hi Brenda,
If you look more closely, you will find that several of them have the 'poop' word instead of the 'sh**' word.
If you look under the headeing "But this is only the beginning!", I mentioned that, if you send me a large, high-quality image of your grey, you can have it on the t-shirt. I could also, if you would like, put the 'poop' message on the back.
You only have to ask!
But I'm on holiday all next week, so it will have to be the week after, I'm afraid.
