Okay, i think i have come up with a wacky idea...
Let's start off with, the fact that i have a job now
I work every second weekend and i make $60 every day(and i only work two days, ) i come home with $120.
An African grey at the breeder i would choose..
Shirley, who i originally was going to purchase Jasmine from sells them for $1,500 + $100 more for shipping
Birds R Us in brampton ontario sells them for $1,350
etc
I really trust Shirley, so she is someone i would probably choose, plus when i asked her she sent me alot of photos lol
But it depends.
I am trying to figure out, how long it might take me to actually save up for a grey
I would get About $240 every month right now (just because where i work it is slow, and we are only cleaning the place up, which is why i work only every second weekend as of right now)
I would really like to save up for one, now that i can.. But i have to take into account
Cage,Toys, etc, and the fact that i have Cinder, i want to get him a new cage..And than vet bills, etc.
Truthfully it can't be that much ?
But its worth a try right ? I just need to learn to keep ahold of my money.. which is why i have a bankaccount Lmao.
Okay, so everyone, help me out, keep me motivated please ? although i am sure i shouldn't have a problem keeping myself motivated. But just incase because i know this is going to be tough lol !
But i will take thing's slowely, first i will save up for an amazing cage lol !
Than decorate it, but still put money away in the midst of it for my grey
Okay, how about you all help me make a saving's plan ?
I need ANAG's help lol with my major scheme. (:
Somehow i dont really know how lol, but i just know that this is the right thing to do, before i had relied on my dad to make my dreams come true, to get me my grey. But apparently i was to blind to take the picture, i had saved up money but it still wasn't enough to be able to have a grey.
i know that if i saved up for my grey, it will just be some way i know that i can make it come true, after all, In order to make something happen, you must be the one to take the first step

I know from my own working experience when young, that having a goal made a big difference. Put up a photo or other picture of a Grey to keep you focused on your goal. Make a list of priorities, and save a portion of every pay in each important category (PARROT, CAGE/TOYS, VET BILLS, for example). And, most importantly, give yourself a small allowance to spend on yourself/gifts/entertainment, so you won't feel deprived and tempted to "splurge" on something that would throw a wrench in your plans.
And, stop looking through the online ads at the birds for resale! This will only make you feel sad for them and spoil the whole point of your plan.

I decided that i better not get the IRN, and just get a grey.
the IRN, he isn't tame, and there are other reasons why i had decided that i shouldnt get a IRN that was used for breeding.
Just because, i can only keep up with so many vet bills lol. And well, you know ?

For each day's pay, set aside $50 for your goals, and the remaining $10 is for you to spend on yourself. Be firm with yourself, and you will reach your goal that much quicker.

our breeder in ontario allowed us to make a deposit when merlin was 4 weeks old, then we paid the balance when he was old enough, (ie weened and perching) to come home. In the middle we went cage hunting. although we bought new there are always good deals on kijiji and craigs list for cages. also the breeder allowed us to visit as often as we liked. So we were able to handle him at 4 weeks old and up and by the time we got him home he had already been bonded more to me. now he seems to be bonded equally to my wife and myself

Make sure you have a saving and a spending (checking) account. Most savings accounts are free if you have the checking account.
Call your bank and ask that they limit your savings account to deposits only. It means you cannot use your bank card to take money out. You can always call telephone banking and get the restriction removed if you need it. It allowes you to think twice before taking themoney out. I wouldn't worry with a a high interest savings account right now. You need a high balance to get the high interest and they charge you something like $5 per transactions (depending on the bank) , including transfers to the checking account.
Good luck

You can see the blue/UV in the feathers, so I'm gonna say male
Chiku is more pink, Echo is more bluey purple.
Good luck, you've had a bit of a rough trot over the past year or so, you deserve something to look forward to
I may not have the key to success, but I know how to pick the lock on the door.

I say breeder, but I don't think this place actually breeds the birds. They are taken away a few days after hatching(whenever it is safe to do so)
exotic wings and pet things, they are in St. Clements Ontario, a little out of the way, but we have been dealing with them for years. The breeder can come on a little strong if he thinks you are doing something wrong, but he knows his birds. They don't appear to have any congos right now, but they are reserving timnehs. Give them a call to make sure the web page is accurate.
They also have an avian vet who comes by every other Wednesday to check on the birds and give them their shots. He also sticks around to check peoples animals at a discount when he is in the store.
http://www.exoticwings.com/
He has cages for the best prices we could find retail, he has a huge selection of toys, and his toys are priced lowest we have seen retail.
here's a pic of the birdie "play area"

I got Kumiko from Homestead Hatchery, so I'm leaning in that direction. Jane is very easy to work with and I'm sure that she would be happy to take installments on a future baby CAG, AFTER you pass her approval. (She is very particular about who gets her babies. ) If you tell her you are active with AnAG, and mention Kumiko, I think you will have an easier time with her process.
