Posted Image I adopted Maggie Mae from a friend in March 2009. I was told that she is 6 years old. She was DNA tested a female when I took her for her first vet check up ever. At her prior house they thought she was a boy and called her Martie. She recently made a 10 hour car trip with me and loved it. I fixed the smallest dog kennel available with a perch. When we first get into the car she will hang upside down and dance to the music. She rode on my shoulder for most of the trip. She decided my name was Jamie. We do not know where that came from; the previous owner does not know anyone named Jamie and neither do we. If I don't respond quickly to Jamie then she tries Jackie. My husband used to complain about a co-worker that he does not care for who name happens to be Jackie. He is not allowed to say her name in the house anymore but that name stuck also. Anytime I leave the room she will say "Jamie, what are you doing? Come on girl, (then whistles). Posted Image

I tried to upload a couple of different pics but they were too large. I will try again after while. I have two maltese and a border collie also. When I ask them if they need to go potty Maggie Mae says (In a very hic voice) "come on girls", "hurry up". She also tells the border collie to "get outta here" and when the little ones bark she says "hey!!!" and a new one while on vacation was "shut up". This site looks really neat and I hope to learn a bunch.Posted Image

Welcome to AnAG! :)

Uploading large pictures generally will not work, but if you resize them, then it should be no problem. We have links for free resizing programs if you don't have a program already.

Maggie Mae sounds like a real lovely cute character - she does in fact have the name of a real person, I come from Liverpool (uk) and there is a song about a famous prostitute called Maggie May who used to hang around Lime Street train station and was arrested for robbing a sailor

Anyhoo enough of the questionable characters of Liverpool  Hi from me and Claude we are new here too.

Maggie May was a Liverpudlian 'Lady of Negotiable Affection' (Liverpudlian is a neat word....it is very cromulent.)

I literally laughed out loud at this story! I've heard of people naming parrots of course, but this is the first I've heard of a parrot naming a person! Too cute!!!
