Hi,
I'm new and "green" to Grey's and Forums I've been encouraged to sign up by Roseilee63. I live in New Zealand and hope to own a grey sometime next year. At this stage I want to learn and hopefully prepare a loving and enriching enviroment for my grey with a few friends. I currently have a rose breasted cockatoo, native to Australia. She's pink and grey AND beautiful her name is Cookie. She had a small vocabulary and one of her favourites is 'kiss me, kiss, kiss" she then blows kisses... in return for scratches. I also have a cockatiel, 'Spike' he's grey & has a tiny vocabulary. Finally, I have 'Tweet', he's a yellow canary and whistles beautifully. By the way Cookie imitates the canary and we know she's not 'tweet', spike also mimicks the phone and is a great 'security bird', he alerts us when there's a cat or dog on the property. I hope I haven't bored anyone. I looked forward to making some great friends here. Bye for now

Welcome to the very best grey forum on the internet. We have many grey "experts" who give great advice. We are so very happy you have found us.
Parrot keeping is not for the faint of heart, nor for the thin of skin.

Welcome to the forum... I'd love to have a galah as well as a grey... they are so beautiful! I know they are as common as pigeons in Oz but they are rare and expensive over here.

Hello again, thanks for the very warm welcome...really appreciate it Gosh..so may people from all over the world. Roseilee you're right an 'international family' it is. It's taking me while to find my way around this site. Will try and load a video of Cookie on her 'back' playing with an emery board soon. Will also put up pictures of Spike and Tweet. Ciao for now:)

Hi
Sorry I didn't reply can't find my way around this site it's taken me 2 days. Yes, Galah's are beautiful and very affectionate. It's really heartbreaking when they are culled in some parts of australia. How much would one cost there? They cost between $850 to $1000 here for a hand reared baby. Hope to hear from you soon. Have attached a picture of you hope you get it.
