Would like to start by thanking you for your patience with this upgrade as a result of the short notice. I decided to upgrade now as I had a window of opportunity this morning and the upgrade was quite large. The board, gallery, blog, chat and Grey Toolkit have all been upgraded ...

Will provide more details on the upgrade in the next couple of days but the obvious change right now is the skins.

Our custom skin is not finished yet (Dee working very hard on it) so the default skin for now will be one of the premium skins that I have installed. Once our custom skin is ready I will change the default to our custom skin.

I would also like to note that I will be adding very nice premium skins to AnAG ... I believe members need to have a choice on how they prefer to view the forum so now the members don't have to use the default if they choose not to... That way they can choose from the choices of skins at the bottom left ...

More later ... for now Dee is going to have a tea!

An African Grey home page has been changed and is now "wrapped" into the forum software. There are a number of reasons for that change .. but the most important was the ease in upgrading only one software versus three ...

This is the landing page for AnAG and is a work in progress ... Not sure how I want it to look so that page alone may change over the next few weeks ... but will still be embedded into the forum and maintain the same look and feel.

Grey Toolkit was part of the website and is now also embedded into the forum software ... You will notice the link in the navigation bar at the top of all forum pages ... Most of the articles have been transferred ...

As a result, we are introducing a Tutorial System that will contain tutorials intended to provide step by step instructions on how to use and/or accomplish different forum or component functions.

What will you see?

• Tutorials System
  • You will see the tutorial system link at the top of the forum page
  • When you click on "Tutorial" the system will open to display the different categories that the tutorials will be saved in
• "Tutorial Discussions" Forum
  • This forum will be used to discuss tutorials that have already been created --- when a tutorial is created an equivalent forum topic will be created and saved in this forum. Members will now have an opportunity to provide their input on the tutorial ... Did it work? Was it clear? Can it be improved? etc
• "Suggest a Tutorial" Sub-Forum of Tutorial Discussions
  • This forum will be used for members to suggest a tutorial .. AnAG staff will take these suggestions and create a tutorial. Once the tutorial is created the topic will be closed and any discussions regarding the created tutorial can be posted in the "Tutorial Discussion" forum

In a nutshell how it works:

• AnAG staff create a tutorial
• Once save the system will create a topic for discussion in a forum named "Tutorial Discussions"
• Members will be able to reply in the "Tutorial Discussions" forum but won't be able to create any posts in there
• This will provide members an ability to discuss the tutorial and the author can make changes if required
• Members can submit suggested tutorials in the "Suggest a Tutorial" sub-forum

I think this will provide members an opportunity to help create our "Tutorials" while learning to use all the functionality at AnAG... There are a couple of tutorials already created .....
